Interim Chief of Police: Rene Siller 637-2511
Currently under the direction of Interim Chief Rene Siller; there are 17 paid sworn commissioned officers plus 7 civilian employees. The department contracts with Terry County to house prisoners at the Terry County Law Enforcement Center. Currently the City of Brownfield is paying $40,000 annually for this service. There are 5 commissioned reserve officers.
All police officers are licensed by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and Education and incentive pay is provided to encourage higher grades of certification. The city provides numerous opportunities for training to its police officers.
The Police Department operates a fully enhanced 911 system for Brownfield and Terry County.
